Former President Donald Trump slammed the Democratic Party, referring to them as “fascists” after a positive day in court where his former personal attorney, Michael Cohen, continued to testify. Trump read a statement from Fox News contributor Charlie Hurt, noting that polls show voters are aware of the Democratic “scam” and expressing how terrified Democrats are of their base of support.

In addition, Trump cited news clippings that criticized the case as “election interference” and declared that it was a successful day in court for him. He expressed his belief that the trial is exposing what he sees as a fraudulent plot.

During the trial, Cohen testified for a second day. The case centers on a $130,000 payment Cohen made to Stormy Daniels, a former pornographic performer, before the 2016 presidential election, allegedly to silence her claims of an affair with Trump. Trump has consistently denied the allegations.

Prosecutors argue that the Trump Organization illegally reimbursed Cohen and falsely classified the payments as legal expenses. They are trying to show that Trump deliberately falsified records to commit or conceal additional illegal activities. Trump has pleaded not guilty and has steadfastly maintained his innocence throughout the trial.

Cohen faced questions from Trump's legal team about his TikTok videos, in which he made disparaging comments about Trump. Cohen explained that posting these videos served as an outlet for his personal frustrations.

During the trial, it was noted that the Appellate Division of the New York Supreme Court rejected the Trump team's attempt to lift a gag order imposed on Trump. That decision drew criticism from Trump, who had called the order “unconstitutional.” The gag order prohibits Trump from making public statements about witnesses, attorneys, court staff and family members of staff. Trump has been fined $10,000 for violating the order on several occasions.

Trump's allies, including Vivek Ramaswamy, a former 2024 presidential candidate, and several politicians such as Florida Rep. Byron Donalds, Florida Rep. Cory Mills and North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum expressed their solidarity with him, attending the court proceedings and expressing his displeasure with the trial during a press conference. They criticized the trial as a “sham” and accused the judge of having a conflict of interest.

The trial will resume on Thursday, and Cohen will be questioned again. The prosecution team has stated that Cohen will be their last witness.
