Channeling Clint Eastwood, President Joe Biden's tough act drew a quick response from former President Donald Trump and even quicker ridicule.
“They needed *five cuts* to make a 14 second video!”
Reports of polling data and stepped-up fundraising efforts appeared to show a concerted effort by the Democratic Party to find a spark of enthusiasm for the highly out-of-favour incumbent they pinned their hopes on.
On Wednesday, that manifested itself in a liver-stained gauntlet by “Dark Brandon” as he fought his way into a debate challenge for his GOP challenger.
“Donald Trump lost two debates with me in 2020,” Biden said. “Since then, he had not appeared in the debate. Now he's acting like he wants to debate me again. Well, make my day, pal.”
“I'll even do it twice. So let's pick the dates, Donald. I hear you're free on Wednesdays,” the headline added with a dig at his predecessor's criminal trial schedule in New York City.

As expected, there's a catch: Only Biden-friendly networks can moderate.
The Washington Post reported: “Biden's team has requested that only broadcast networks that hosted Republican primary debates in 2016 and Democratic primary debates in 2020 be eligible to host this year's events. Only four networks (CNN, ABC News, Telemundo and CBS News) hosted debates for both sides during these cycles.”

Within an hour of Biden leading the back-and-forth debate that saw Trump face off as early as June instead of the typical early September, the all-but-official Republican nominee fired back with his own statement
“Crooked Joe Biden is the WORST polemic I've ever faced – he can't put two sentences together!” began publishing Truth Social. “Crooked is also the WORST president in US history, by far.”
“It's time for a debate so he can explain to the American people his highly destructive open border policy, the ridiculous new electric vehicle mandates, the crushing inflation endowment, high taxes and his foreign policy really WEAK, which allows the world to 'Catch Fire.' I am ready and willing to debate Crooked Joe at the two proposed times in June and September,” Trump continued. “I would strongly recommend more than two debates, and for excitement, a really big venue, even though Biden is supposedly afraid of crowds, just because he doesn't understand them. Just tell me when, I'll be there. 'We'll be ready for raze!!!'”
The ultimate goal of increasing donations in between election even CNN admitted was painting a bleak picture for the president was made clear when the campaign's tracking post linked to a contribution page and encouraged supporters to “Get In” after stating, “When I take the stage, we will me and this. base team against Donald Trump and his minions. It will be democracy versus authoritarianism. Revenge and retribution for our future.”
Reactions to the one-bite challenge suggested a lack of confidence in Biden's ability to even get through a single debate with Trump after he appeared to struggle to get through a pre-recorded message.
