Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia has suggested the US should undergo a “national divorce,” but Utah Gov. Spencer Cox, also a Republican, has denounced Green’s suggestion as “evil “.
“We need a national divorce. We need to separate into red states and blue states and shrink the federal government. Everyone I talk to says that. From the sick and disgusting woke culture issues shoved down our throats to the latest policies treasonous to America by the Democrats, we are done,” Greene tweeted.
Cox denounced the congresswoman’s words and continued the metaphor by suggesting the country needs “marriage counseling.”
“This rhetoric is destructive and wrong and, frankly, evil. We don’t need divorce, we need marriage counseling. And we need elected leaders who don’t take advantage of tearing us apart. We can disagree without hate. Healthy conflict was critical to the founding and survival of our nation,” Cox wrote.

Greene also defended the notion of a “national divorce” in tweets on his Twitter account @RepMTG.
“People are absolutely sick and tired of the insanity of the left and the disaster policies of America Last. The national divorce is not a civil war, but Biden and the neocons are taking us into World War III, at the same time forcing ESG companies and gender confusion on our children. Enough!” Greene tweeted.

In another post, he retweeted a tweet from the @POTUS Twitter account that showed photos of President Joe Biden with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
