The six-person majority said the university’s policies violate the equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment to the Constitution.

Biden nominated Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, in a dissent, called the ruling “truly a tragedy for all of us.”

Today’s ruling concerns two separate but related cases, one for Harvard and the other for UNC.
