ESPN host Stephen A. Smith believes former first lady Michelle Obama would easily win the presidency if she ran for office this year.
Appearing on retired NBA player Kevin Garnett's podcast Monday, he was asked how close he thinks America is to having its first female president.

He first responded with a speech after former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who nearly became president before being upstaged by former President Donald Trump in the 2016 race.
As a typical leftist, Smith blamed that loss on then-FBI Director James Comey.
“If then-FBI director James Comey hadn't come in at the last minute with some bullshit about Hillary and the emails, and Hillary — I think — campaigned in Wisconsin and Philadelphia in the waning days before the election, I I think you would have had a woman president in 2016 … I think it was so close,” he said.
Then he spoke to Obama.
“And I think Michelle Obama would win right now if she ran,” he said. “I think Michelle Obama would certainly be the next president of the United States if she ran against Trump, the presumptive GOP nominee. Now, that's obviously not going to happen. She doesn't seem to have any interest.”
That hasn't stopped a lot of people from speculating on the matter and claiming that Obama will indeed run.
Take former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy. After the release of special counsel Robert K. Hur's report in February, and after a particularly disastrous press conference for Biden, Ramaswamy predicted on Fox News that Obama would be the nominee.

“I think the number one takeaway is this: Joe Biden is not going to be the nominee,” he said. “I said that last year. People dismissed it as some kind of conspiracy theory. Today I think it's become much more obvious.”
As evidence, he cited special counsel Hur's conclusion that Biden committed a crime by keeping classified documents with him after he left office, but is too senile to be prosecuted.
“Replay this: Biden's own DOJ and special counsel are effectively releasing a report that undermines the case for him actually being a candidate for the presidency of the United States, just as Biden's poll numbers are skyrocketing.” Ramaswamy pointed out.
“We have to do the math, skate where the puck is going, not fall into the deflection. But I think what they're planning is to sideline Biden as a candidate, trot on a different puppet. That's the most important d 'tonight,' he added.
Who exactly? Obama!
“Biden will not be the Democratic nominee. Get ready for Michelle Obama,” he tweeted at the time.
A month before Ramaswamy said this, a New York Post gossip columnist went viral for suggesting that Obama might run for president.
According to gossip columnist Cindy Adams, the signs of Obama's possible candidacy were in plain sight.
“Biden won't argue. I can't. Our chief coder can't even read the pre-written script in front of him fast enough to pronounce the words. So forget him, which most of us already have,” he wrote Adams for the Post.
“Come back now, Obama. Not him. HER! We've been hearing that drum beat for a while. Now it's louder. Plans are to take Michelle for the Democratic presidential nomination. Making the music is Barack the leader of the orchestra,” he added.

“Michelle says she's 'terrified' Trump will win,” Adams continued in his column. “No casual belching. It was programmed. He's sent out a poll to Dem biggies asking their feelings about his candidacy.”
“Obama is quietly looking for Joe to go. He's been committed to that for several weeks now. Mouths don't talk. But mouths know,” he added.
Note that there had been no public reports of Obama polling Dems about his possible candidacy.
However, Adams then continued his column by astonishingly claiming that Obama had admitted he intended to run as recently as last summer and that the Obamas, including former President Barack Obama, were encouraging the president Joe Biden to drop out.
“Over a year ago, in the summer of 2022, he was in New York meeting with several big hedge CEOs and he said, 'I'm coming forward and I'm asking for your support,'” Adams alleged. The Obamas are now conniving to force SloMo Joe out. to abandon It's like who else is there?”
“A failure by Joe offers odds that Michelle can enter. Obama's negotiation to make this happen. Pay attention to the gurgling and gurgling about the election. About worrying about bad Joe voting, about bad Trump, about everything but Bad Bad LeRoy Brown,” he continued.
