Madonna was rushed to a New York City hospital after being found unresponsive. Page Six has exclusively revealed.
The 64-year-old pop icon was discovered at a residence on Saturday before being admitted to the ICU where she was intubated overnight.
Guy Oseary, Madonna’s longtime manager, shared on Instagram Wednesday that his client had “developed a serious bacterial infection that resulted in a several-day stay in the ICU.”
The “Vogue” crooner is now out of the intensive care unit and recovering in a regular ward at the unnamed hospital.
The singer’s eldest daughter Lordes Leon, 26, has been at her superstar mother’s bedside throughout the ordeal.
It is currently unclear what type of bacterial infection Madonna developed. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, More than 23,000 Americans die each year from a range of serious bacterial infections.
Madonna was ready to kick her out highly anticipated “Celebration” tour. in less than three weeks, but the shows have now been postponed amid the health crisis.
The “Like A Virgin” hitmaker was scheduled to play 53 shows in North America and Europe, starting in Vancouver on July 15.
“At this time, we will have to pause all engagements, which includes the tour,” Oseary wrote. “We will share more details with you as soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and rescheduled shows.”
The Grammy winner promised to perform her greatest hits from her 1983 self-titled debut album to her most recent record, 2019’s “Madame X.”
On Wednesday, just three days before her hospitalization, Madonna took to social media celebrates her twin daughters’ graduation from elementary school.
“2 Kweens!!!! Happy Graduation!” the proud mom wrote alongside a photo of 10-year-old Stelle and Estere.
Meanwhile, in May, Madonna spent Mother’s Day in New York City with all six of his children. In addition to Lourdes, Stelle and Estere also have sons Rocco, 22, and David Banda, 17, and a daughter, Mercy, 17.
Madonna’s current relationship status is unclear. In May, spilled fountains that the crooner was getting “ridiculously close” to singer Maluma, 29, in rehearsals ahead of his tour.
