Geraldo Says He Was “Fired” From The Five & “Quit” Fox News

Geraldo Rivera shared an unexpected video while on board his boat, where he offered more details about his recent departure from ‘The Five’ to Fox News.

According to Geraldo, he was specifically released from his position at ‘The Five’ but not from the chain as a whole. However, his exit from ‘The Five’ eventually led him to resign from Fox News entirely.

In the attached video, he mentioned his intention to discuss the events leading up to his firing on Fox & Friends. He stressed that this could be his last appearance on Fox News.

“At Jones Beach. Inland, see the tower. Very, very rough. Thick day. Thick day in the North Atlantic Ocean,” he said. “So out of Jones Beach headed for the World Trade Center. Making great weather. Anyway, in rush hour holiday traffic, I’ll probably go faster on the boat than the Long Island Expressway.”

“So it doesn’t look like he’s in The Five,” he continued. “I mean, I’m not going to be on The Five. I got fired from The Five. And as a result of that, I left Fox. So tomorrow morning I’ll have more to say on Fox and Friends. Thank you.”

Last week, Geraldo officially announced his departure from ‘The Five’ via Twitter.

Good morning, it’s official, I’m off @TheFive. My last scheduled appearances are Thursday and Friday, June 29 and 30. It’s been a great career and I appreciate the opportunity. Being the odd man out isn’t always easy. For now, I am still General Correspondent.

Geraldo has been a regular on Fox News since his days as an investigative reporter. He has been an unorthodox voice on a number of issues, and has taken controversial positions without fear of offending the public. It will be interesting to see what Geraldo has to say in what may be his last appearance on Fox News.
