You might want to take a look at your 2023 BINGO card. Did you happen to check “Joe Rogan exposes 2020 election rigging, while DeSantis confirms Joe’s win”? It’s not something many of us predicted, but it’s exactly where we are now, thanks to a strange and uncomfortable NBC interview with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. Many conservatives are scratching their heads at DeSantis claiming that Trump lost and Joe won the election without adding more context like “thanks to a tsunami of unchecked mail-in ballots” or “he won because the media and Big Tech covered it.” …” Ron offered none of this, but ironically former Bernie Bro and anti-Trump critic Joe Rogan did. Rogan is convinced the media “rigged” the election to ensure Trump stayed out of the White House.

Washington Examiner:

Comedian and podcast host Joe Rogan said Tuesday that the 2020 presidential election was “definitely” rigged by the legacy media.

“It was manipulated by the media for sure,” Rogan told comedian Tom Segura on The Joe Rogan Experience, “just the Hunter Biden laptop case and the Russia collusion case, just those two things, just those two narratives that they knew weren’t true, that they pushed in front of everybody and that we know had to do with trying to get rid of Trump.”

Meanwhile, during that awkward interview with an NBC reporter that dominated the conversation, Ron DeSantis conceded, without elaborating, that Trump lost and Biden won, essentially saying “end of story.”

DeSantis then turns his focus to the issue of mail-in ballots, the Hunter laptop from Hell and the weak GOP, and blames it on Trump, claiming the former president entrusted the country to Fauci and his FBI censored the laptop. It is unclear whether DeSantis is claiming that mail ballots and FBI censorship are what caused actual fraud or not, as his position is very unclear.

It’s fair to point out that DeSantis wasn’t always a critic of Dr. Fauci.

DeSantis also praised Chris Wray, calling him “talented.”

This Team DeSantis reboot strategy seems pretty risky, especially when 70 percent of Republicans believe there was cheating that affected the 2020 election.

CNN:

The share of Republicans and GOP-leaning independents who believe President Joe Biden’s 2020 election victory was illegitimate has risen again, according to a new CNN poll released throughout July. Overall, 69% of Republicans and Republican supporters say Biden’s victory was not legitimate, up from 63% earlier this year and up until last fall, even though there is no evidence of voter fraud that would have altered the result of the contest.

The new poll, conducted ahead of former President Donald Trump’s impeachment on Tuesday for efforts to overturn the 2020 election, suggests the share of election negatives among his supporters has risen to a level not seen recently time before the hearings held last year by the Chamber. select committee investigating the January 6, 2021 bombing. In January 2022, 67% of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents said they thought Biden’s victory was illegitimate; which had reached 72% in CNN polls in the summer of 2021.

Among Republican-aligned adults, the share who believe there is strong evidence that the election was not legitimate is 39%, while 30% say it is only their suspicion that Biden did not win legitimately, and 29% say Biden’s election was legitimate. 39% of Republicans and Republican-leaning Republicans who say Biden’s win wasn’t legitimate and there’s evidence that hasn’t changed much since May, when 36% said the same, is well below the peak of that belief, which was 54% shortly after the attack on the US Capitol in January 2021.

DeSantis’ campaign faces ongoing struggles, dealing with financial woes, media missteps and unpopular “establishment” talking points about Trump’s impeachment, Jan. 6 and the 2020 election Can you turn it around? Time will tell. Meanwhile, unexpected warriors like Joe Rogan are saying the things the country wants to hear.
