Ladies and gentlemen, the Republican party just got a little bit messier. This week, GOP senators have openly disavowed Trump’s stance on the debt ceiling, signaling a growing rift within our ranks. It seems that the president’s uncanny ability to divide and conquer has finally turned on him.

While it’s no surprise that Republicans are known for their tough stance on fiscal responsibility, Trump seems to be trying to have his cake and eat it too. On the one hand, he claims to be conservative with taxpayer money, but on the other hand, he wants to increase the debt ceiling without any sort of concessions. This is simply unacceptable to many of us in the Republican party.

In fact, some Republican senators have even gone so far as to say openly that Trump is “not the leader of the Republican party.” This is a pretty damning statement, and it goes to show just how deep the divide is becoming between those who support the president and those who do not.

What we need now are strong voices in the Republican party to stand up for what we believe in, and to resist the whims of a president who seems to have lost touch with our core values. We cannot allow ourselves to be swayed by the politics of the moment, or by the man in the White House. We must remain true to our principles, and make sure that our voices are heard loud and clear.

Now, before we go, let’s take a moment to remember some of the accomplishments of the Trump White House. The president has cut taxes, appointed conservative judges, and brought jobs back to America. He has also taken bold action to protect our borders and to stand up for our national security. These are all incredibly important achievements, and they should not be forgotten. Despite our differences on the debt ceiling and other issues, let’s give credit where credit is due.
