Top GOP senator demands answers for ZERO arrests at violent White House protest

The idea that there is a two-tiered justice system in America comes up every time the left comes together to protest the latest cause of the day. The “civil disobedience” on display often involves violence and destruction, but the activists who perpetrate these crimes are clearly above the law, especially when compared to center-right protesters.

The violent protest seen last week outside the White House in Lafayette Park is a prime example of the double standard at play in America under the Biden administration, and Sen. John Barrasso (R-WY) wants some answers behind the “disturbing” lack. of arrests for the acts of vandalism, destruction and damage to the park's infrastructure that occurred.

Anti-Israel protesters besieged the park, essentially forcing law enforcement, but the US Park Police, DC Police and Secret Service reported. zero arrests, although officers were assaulted, including a National Park Service ranger.

Barrasso, whose commission oversees the Department of the Interior, sent a letter to Interior Secretary Deb Haaland on Thursday, asking her about the role politics play in that decision.

“I am deeply concerned about last weekend's incidents near the White House involving pro-terrorist and anti-Israel agitators,” Barrasso wrote. “Disturbingly, the police reported no arrests after the clear acts of violence and vandalism by the protesters, leaving many unanswered questions about the adequacy of the response to this incident. I wonder if political sympathy with the agitators influenced your department's response to these acts of violence and vandalism.”

“It is imperative that your department's actions are guided by the principles of law and order, rather than political considerations,” the senator said. “The Department of the Interior must do everything in its power to ensure that these criminals are brought to justice. The American people must have confidence that the Department will enforce the law, regardless of the views of the offenders .

On that note, the Fraternal Order of Police of the United States Park Police released footage of the protest the next day and acknowledged that officers were assaulted, saying only 71 officers were available to handle a crowd of up to 9,000, which prevented them from making arrests. — The lack of officers can be a politically driven factor.

The lack of arrests at far-left protests is a common theme across America. On the occasions when arrests are made, criminals are usually prosecuted and released quickly; in many cases, local prosecutors drop charges, citing First Amendment rights.
