Buffalo Bills sDamar Hamlin returned Sunday to watch his team take on the Cincinnati Bengals.

Last week, Gov. Kathy Hochul (D-NY) revealed that she called Hamlin to convey New Yorkers’ prayers for his speedy recovery.

“I spoke with @HamlinIsland this morning and let him know that the hopes and prayers of 20 million New Yorkers have been with him during his recovery. His story is truly an inspiration. #LoveForDamar,” Hochul wrote.

If the Bills win Sunday’s game, they will advance to the AFC Championship on Jan. 29. If they successfully beat the Kansas City Chiefs there, they would advance to play in the Super Bowl against the NFC champion.

On the team’s first play of the game directly after Hamlin’s fumble, they posted a 96-yard return touchdown. This was just one of two return touchdowns by running back Nyheim Hines that game.

Hamlin credited the play to God, responding in a series of tweets from the hospital.
