In another of his predictions that got old like milk, Joe Biden predicted in 2020 that if Donald Trump was re-elected, he would start a war with Iran.
“The world has changed because of what Trump has done,” the now-bankrupt Biden told VICE News. And the American people, including independents and some Republicans, know how bad it is. They know how misrepresented it is – they know how close it is to getting us into a war. I said when the walls get close to this man, he will lead us to war with Iran. Unfortunately, I may have been right.”
In early 2020 Biden accused Trump of escalating tensions with Iran by ordering the killing of Iranian general Qassem Soleimani. Iran retaliated for Soleimani's killing by firing rockets at two Iraqi air bases housing US forces, but fortunately there were no casualties or further escalation.
Fast forward three years, and now it's Biden warning that the United States could be embroiled in a war with Iran under his watch.
“If Iran manages to significantly increase its assault on Israel, the US could be drawn in.” Biden warned yesterday. “Israel is our strongest partner in the Middle East; It is unthinkable that we would stand by if their defenses were weakened and Iran could carry out the destruction it intended this weekend.”
