There’s been a flurry of Obama news lately, especially after his personal chef mysteriously drowned at his Martha’s Vineyard estate. Shortly after this report came out, we discovered that Obama once wrote letters to an ex describing how he “made love” to men “in the imagination.”
Barack Obama once wrote that he made love to men every day “in imagination” in a love letter to his ex-girlfriend that emerged more than 40 years later.
The former US president wrote about his “androgynous mind” in a letter to his then-girlfriend, Alex McNear, which has since resurfaced in the New York Post. In the correspondence, Obama wrote: “In relation to homosexuality, I have to say that I think this is an attempt to turn away from the present, a refusal perhaps to perpetuate the endless farce of earthly life. You see, I make love to men daily, but in the imagination.”
“My mind is largely androgynous and I hope to do more until I can think in terms of people, not women instead of men,” she added. “But, returning to the body, I see that I have become a man, and physically in life, I choose to accept this contingency.”
The letter was written in November 1982, when Obama and McNear, 21, were students at Occidental College in Los Angeles. He later drafted excerpts from the letter, which is now housed at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
This revelation may not have come as much of a surprise to some who have long been derided as “conspiracy theorists”; as rumors about Obama’s sexuality have been circulating for eons. But no one spoke more about those “gay” rumors than the late comedian Joan Rivers.

In 2014, many laughed off his comments as mere jokes, but given what we know now, was he really joking about Obama being gay? In addition, Rivers claimed that Michelle was a man, a claim that has fueled a steady stream of online speculation about the former first lady’s gender.

The comedian known for her lack of self-deprecation recently officiated at a same-sex wedding and was asked by a photographer if she thought America would ever see its first gay or female president. His response was typical of Rivers.
“We already have it with Obama, so let’s calm down,” he said. “You know Michelle (Obama) is trans.”
When asked to elaborate, Rivers said, “She’s transgender. We all know that.”
Many now look back on this classic Joan moment, wondering if she was really right all along…
Sadly, Joan died shortly after making these comments.
