Trump shares Melania's heartbreaking reaction as she watches an assassination attempt

Former President Trump shared with Fox News anchor Laura Ingraham how watching his assassination attempt deeply affected his wife Melania and how she is unable to talk about it.

As the bullet barely missed the former president, Melania watched in horror as the assassination attempt unfolded.

Ingraham asked Trump if the former first lady was watching live from home when she saw the incident.

“She was watching,” he replied. “She was watching live. It was all over the place. It was on TV.”

Trump explained how Melania can't talk to him about the assassination attempt because it was too upsetting.

“He can't even really talk about it. It's okay, that means he likes me, he loves me. I could talk about it freely, I'm not so sure which is better. Either I like him or he loves me, it's fine,” he joked with Ingraham.

When Melania saw the near miss, she evidently thought “the worst had happened.” She was shocked to the core. This belief was reportedly sparked by the way the Secret Service brought down her husband after the shooting.

When her husband received the Republican nomination after the attempt on his life, Melania was remarkable emotional while talking about the event.

Despite what happened that day, the former president still respects the Secret Service agents who were assigned to him.

“I just want to say one thing about the Secret Service … they were very brave. They were coming. Bullets were flying over me. I went down and they were – they were on top of me, I had a lot of very big, strong people on top of me,” he to comment

Despite defending the officers, Trump is acutely aware of what went wrong that day and how close he came to having his head blown off.

“Should have been somebody on the roof, should have communicated with the local police and we're seeing this guy, who was a very disturbed person … and Trump fans screaming for him?” he asked.

Trump commented that the Secret Service sniper who neutralized Crooks did his job “but it should have happened nine seconds earlier.”

The former president will speak with the FBI and give them a “victim statement” on Thursday.

Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle has since resigned after the utter failure to protect Trump who many consider highly suspect.

“A group chat of those meant to protect Trump were aware that gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, was in their midst more than 90 minutes before Trump was shot, instead of an hour as he had previously stated by the FBI,” he said. daily mail reported

“As one of the three snipers was about to call off at the end of their shift around 4:26 p.m., they noticed a man they later confirmed was Crooks sitting at a picnic table,” the outlet continued .

There were warning signs everywhere that the Secret Service and local police missed.

“It emerged that the gunman's father called the police on the day of the shooting because Crooks did not return from what he thought was a routine Saturday trip to the local gun range,” the Daily Mail wrote.

“And it was revealed that Crooks was at the former president's rally three hours before he opened fire, even arousing the suspicions of the Secret Service during that time because he was carrying a rangefinder used by hunters to take long shots. But he never he was stopped and not questioned,” the outlet claimed.

The Daily Mail added:

He later climbed onto the roof of the building where he was hiding nearby, shot Trump and killed retired volunteer fire chief Corey Comperatore.

Crooks had told his boss he needed the day off work on Saturday and gave colleagues a chilling final message: he would be back on Sunday.

The gunman searched online for “how close” Lee Harvey Oswald was to John F. Kennedy when he shot him, FBI Director Christopher Wray revealed in stunning congressional testimony earlier this year week

FBI Director Christopher Wray also told lawmakers that the 20-year-old gunman flew a drone 200 meters from the stage just two hours before opening fire in Butler, Pennsylvania, and had three explosives in his car.

Shockingly, officers on the ground were warned between two and five times that there was a “suspicious person” before Trump took the stage. Officers saw Crooks inside the building he used to shoot Trump. It was also detected with a range finder.

There are so many points of view on the incident that a bipartisan task force has been formed to investigate it. Republican leaders are also considering a second.
