Tim Walz confirmed what we knew about Democrats during his appearance at a “White Dudes for Kamala Harris” event.
As he spoke, encouraged his fellow Democrats not to shy away from the label of socialist, comparing being a socialist with being a good neighbor:
And you know that's something this guy is going to have to live with for the rest of his life. So I have to say to all of you, please do what you can. Please talk to… look, I have a man from Florida as a brother. We all have it in our families, but these are our neighbors and relatives, and deep down they are good people. They are not mean. They are not small. They are not mean as they sound on stage. They are angry, confused, frustrated, they feel sometimes left behind. But we can get out of there, arrive, make the case. And on the one hand, never shying away from our progressive values. One person's socialism is another person's neighborhood. Just do the damn job.
Meanwhile, in a Senate that includes avowed socialist Bernie Sanders, Kamala Harris was ranked as the leftmost member of that legislative body.
The website GovTrack, which tracks congressional voting records, ranked Harris as the “most liberal” US senator in 2019. In an attempt to downplay her radicalism, after Harris became the presumptive nominee Democrat, GovTracker. cleared his 2019 mark sheet from their website.
