Thread by alexchristy17: Brendan Whitworth, CEO of Anheuser-Busch, was on CBS Mo…

Anheuser-Busch CEO Brendan Whitworth was on CBS Mornings and lamented that “the conversation has become divisive.” Co-host Tony Dokoupil, of course, blamed Republicans and the “conservative political agenda” and asked if he would do it again. Whitworth danced around the question (1/3)

Finally, Whitworth noted that the company has done Pride stuff before, leading co-host Vladimir Duthiers to ask “But the political arm of Anheuser-Busch has given to anti-LGBTQ+ politicians… where find company in queer rights?” Whitworth dodged (2/4)

Using vague numbers and omitting the executives who are leaving, Dokoupil asks, “So how much is this marketing boo-boo, whatever you want to call it, costing Bud Light in the end… sounds like tens of millions, hundreds of millions of dollars?” Whitworth, again, dodges. (3/4)

Duthiers then asks about Whitworth’s days as a sailor and working for the CIA and the transition to Abheuser-Busch. He replies “to me it’s really a degree of separation from the United States: the American flag.” (4/4)

Based on this segment, I’m guessing this guy hits slow-pitch softball | @CBSMornings He laments the opposition to the transgender campaign with the CEO of Anheuser-Busch https://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/nb/alex-christy/2023/06/28/cbs-mourns-opposition-transgender-campaign-anheuser-busch-ceo
