New York Times photographer Doug Mills appears to have captured the moment a bullet whizzed past former President Donald Trump's head during a shooting at his rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday.
Photos posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, showed Mills capturing the thin line of a bullet flying through the air as trump had been speaking shortly after 6:00 pm EDT to a large crowd of supporters. As the bullet could be seen whizzing by, the set of images, which are tilted upwards towards Trump's podium, show the president grabbing his right ear in response.

Soon after trump He began speaking at the rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, chaos erupted in the crowd as loud gunshots rang out. Video footage posted online shows Trump's reaction, with members of the Secret Service immediately rushing to the stage to protect the former president.
After the attack, Trump was rushed to a nearby hospital and was confirmed to be safe, with a source telling the Daily Caller's chief national correspondent, Henry Rodgers, that the former president suffered only “a minor ear injury, no broken bones, just seen by a doctor, no need for surgery.”
Although limited information has been released about the situation, law enforcement officials he said CBS News, the suspect had used an AR-style rifle 200-300 feet away. The gunmen, whose identity has not yet been confirmed, were reported to be located on a raised platform sitting on a shed that was outside the Secret Service's security perimeter, the outlet reported.
