It is quite fitting that a man who was once crowned as the most handsome man in Italy left his burgeoning modeling career to devote himself wholeheartedly to God, taking up the noble calling of the priesthood.
Edoardo Santini, 21, was voted Italy's most handsome man in 2019 when he was 17 in a contest organized by ABE, a fashion group.
But after a lifetime of studying theater and dance to achieve her dream of becoming a star, she took to social media on Saturday to give up her career for her faith.
“At 21 I'm on the way to becoming a priest, God willing,” Edoardo said, claiming to have joined a seminary near Florence.
“I have decided to give up modeling, acting and dancing, but I will not give up all my passions, we will just live them in a different way, offering them to God,” said the native of Castel Fiorentino.
Well, amen! It is heartening to see a young man put aside his vanity and embrace a cause much greater than himself.
