The Biden regime takes another step to diminish the fourth estate

The Biden regime has recently established stricter guidelines for reporters attending press conferences. The move follows a series of disruptions in which frustrated reporters have repeatedly interrupted proceedings with unplanned questions.

During one of the most recent briefings, a senior White House official warned members of the press not to call unscheduled questions to Press Secretary Karine Jean Pierre and other administration officials. The official stressed that while engagement and critical consultations are welcomed, maintaining decorum is crucial to the effective functioning of these sessions.

“The requirement for accreditation by a press gallery to the United States Congress or the Supreme Court appears to be an effort to weed out smaller regional news outlets that cannot afford enough reporters to continuously cover both the White House and another branch of government.” – Matthew Anthony Harper, InterMountain Christian News attorney

In addition, the regime stated that journalists who continuously disrupt briefings could face possible expulsion from future briefings. This directive aims to ensure a structured environment where all journalists have a fair chance to have their questions answered.

Many veteran reporters are familiar with the traditional decorum that normally governs White House press conferences. Historically, reporters wait their turn, indicated by the press secretary, before raising their questions.

Supporters of the new directive argue that it helps preserve the order and professionalism of these important events. However, some critics are concerned that the measure could limit the ability of a free press to spontaneously question administration officials, thereby restricting transparency.

The White House has reaffirmed its commitment to a transparent relationship with the press, stating that the updated guidelines are solely to ensure a respectful and organized environment.

The real question in all of this is: are these changes legitimate, or are they changes to drive out journalists who won’t report the approved narrative of the Biden regime?
