There have been a lot of rumors lately that Governor Ron DeSantis’ campaign is on the way. His poll numbers have been falling; he’s even trailing President Trump in his home state of Florida and elsewhere as well.

It’s no secret that DeSantis is having a hard time stepping out of Trump’s enormous political shadow and connecting with voters. But

A recent Newsweek report paints a bleak picture for DeSantis, claiming that the entire campaign is now “imploding.” Apparently, DeSantis’ unfavorable numbers are rising at a steady rate. DC insiders, even RINOs who don’t like Trump, say DeSantis’ campaign is almost over. And Ron is also fighting friendly interviews with Fox News.

Newsweek:

Only 35.9 percent of Americans have a favorable view of DeSantis, compared with 45.2 percent who say they view him unfavorably on June 29, according to FiveThirtyEight’s national average tracking, though that experts point out that the campaign is still in its early stages.

DeSantis’ unfavorability rating among likely voters has been rising steadily since late March, when he posted a split approval rating of 39.3 percent. That includes the time after he confirmed his 2024 bid in late May in a botched Twitter Space online announcement.

Trump has come out on top in all of the most recent polls, according to FiveThirtyEight’s collection of GOP primary polls. A June 24-27 YouGov poll showed the former president 27 points ahead of DeSantis (52 percent to 25 percent).

As of June 30, Trump leads the average Republican primary with 51.8 percent, with DeSantis a distant second at 23.5 percent.

Speaking on CBS in late June, former Maryland Republican Gov. Larry Hogan called DeSantis’ campaign “one of the worst I’ve ever seen, and it’s dropped like a stone.”

“I think it’s coming to an end,” Hogan said on The Takeout weekly podcast.

Also in late June, Jeff Timmer, senior adviser to the Lincoln Project, a Republican PAC made up of critics of Donald Trump, said that “Ron DeSantis is the worst candidate I’ve ever seen.”

DeSantis recently dodged a question from Fox News’ Martha MacCallum after she asked if he was “frustrated” by his poll numbers.

“Our mission is very simple,” DeSantis said. “We’re going to defeat Biden. We’re going to do all these things for the American people.

In April, Ron was asked about his faltering poll numbers and here’s what he had to say at the time:

Attorney and podcaster Eric Matheny had this to say about the latest report:

Indeed, the 2024 campaign is just beginning, so rumors of DeSantis’ political demise may be premature, but he clearly needs to make some changes if he wants to compete in this race.

Here’s what MTG said in a recent tweet:

All indicators point to a big win in 2024.

President Trump is destroying all of his primary opponents AND is consistently beating Biden in the general polls.

Small dollar donations are increasing even as inflation and Bidenomics are crippling many Americans.

Big donors are reaching out even as Bidenomics is hurting and causing big business layoffs.

As long as Republicans can register lots of new voters and produce overwhelming GOTV initiatives in key states and oversee elections and stop voter fraud, 2024 could be a red wave.

The people are done with the Biden regime.
