Piers Morgan dismisses Kamala Harris as the “most far-left senator” in modern history

British journalist Piers Morgan believes Vice President Kamala Harris has a tough road ahead as she seeks to take on former President Donald Trump in the 2024 election.

The “honeymoon” period with Harris will be short-lived, according to Morgan, who called the current vice president the “most far-left senator” in modern history, referring to her time as a senator of California before starting and ending his 2020 presidential run.

Speaking on “Fox News Saturday Night,” Morgan reiterated his comparison of Trump to Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger, saying both are showmen whose age hasn't slowed them down.

He also compared the pressure on President Joe Biden to drop out of the race to a scene from the 1990 mob movie, “Goodfellas.”

“I think it's all been a fascinating exercise in the ruthlessly treacherous nature of politics,” he said. “One minute they break out like a rash and the next minute you're a rash.”

Host Jimmy Failla asked Morgan about the “pivot” of “Kamala propaganda” following Biden's announcement that he was ending his re-election bid.

“I'm fascinated by the immediate shift in Kamala's propaganda, because if you remember, we're about three months away from them talking about taking her off the ticket, of course, okay. And now, we're being told that she's the person largest in the world even though he ran for president, and when he dropped out, he was polling behind ISIS,” Failla said.

“He's having a fantastically awesome honeymoon, and it's going to last about a week,” Morgan replied. “Then reality is going to come into play, and Donald Trump is going to start making it very loud, because he's already talking about her record, and her record is that she's literally, probably the most far-left senator in the modern history of United States”.

“I find this very funny because on the one hand you have Democrats yelling at Republicans, 'Don't you dare do this about their skin color or their gender, and on the other hand they're saying, if you don't vote to the black woman, you are a racist, a misogynist,” he said to Failla. “Which is?”

Failla noted that even Democrats did not vote for Harris, who was endorsed by Biden before others in the party lined up and promoted her as the presumptive nominee.

Speaking about Democrats' support for Harris despite his record, Morgan used a Titanic analogy.

“The analogy I would give you is that if you were on the Titanic, that the Democrats were with Biden, and it's hit the iceberg and it's going down, and the last lifeboat just disappeared … in the moonlight, you'll take any ship. It doesn't matter how big it is, how likely you are to land,” said Morgan.

“You're just going to jump on anything, and that's where we are,” he added.

Before Biden's Oval Office address to the nation, Morgan questioned who was running the country and urged the president to resign.
