The incident occurred shortly after 1 p.m. about a mile from the Fiserv Forum, inside the outer perimeter of the RNC, where officers were on duty, Columbus police said.

During a press conference, Milwaukee Police Department Chief Jeffrey Norman revealed that 13 uniformed officers from Columbus, who were part of the bike patrol, were involved in daily discussions of events in their designated area when they saw a 43-year-old man with a knife in each hand. , involved in a physical altercation with an unarmed person.

Body camera footage captured the officers forming a circle, with one of them warning: “He's got a knife. He does.”

Police from 63 departments in 24 states and Washington, DC, as well as 44 agencies in Wisconsin, are currently attending the ongoing Republican National Convention.
