AAn aide to Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) described an incident Monday in which the congresswoman and her staff were berated by customers at a restaurant near Capitol Hill.

Nick Dyer told the Washington Examiner how a woman and her adult son approached Greene and him while they were “working in a quiet corner of the restaurant.” On Monday, the congresswoman tweeted that she was “attacked … by a crazy woman and called out by her grown son.”

“We were working on preparing for today’s committee hearings, and after a woman finished dinner, she came up to our table. At first she introduced herself politely, and then she started berating Marjorie,” he Dyer said. “At that point, his 20-year-old son started yelling abuse and came over. I had to get between him and the table because I had no idea what he was going to do. More and more yelling. at him while the her mother kept berating Marjorie. Finally the staff came and asked them to leave. They apologized, moved us to a more private table. They didn’t call the police.”

He added: “These kinds of things happen often, but the son was out of control and the woman wouldn’t leave until the staff came. You never know what could happen.”

Greene raised the incident at the Republican conference meeting Tuesday morning, according to sources on the floor. In his tweet, he criticized the family for disrespecting the restaurant and for the group’s inability to live with people of different political beliefs.

“I was sitting at my desk, working with my staff, and I didn’t even notice these people until they became demons. People used to respect others, even if they had different opinions. But not anymore. Our country is gone,” he said. .

Greene made waves last week for repeatedly suggesting that the United States should split into two countries in a “national divorce,” splitting into a red country and a blue country.
