They suck when mismanaged.
Well managed taxes are great for a strong and functioning society.
What a problem if you could probably cut current taxes in half, focus spending on what matters, reduce corruption and have a better functioning society.
What I would like the government to do is 1) continuously raise the minimum income tax threshold. Keep raising it and reducing spending year after year until most people don’t have to pay income tax. 2) Remove taxes from anything essential ie your home, education and medical care. So if you want a home life, you can. Keep basic services free of taxes at a cheaper price and let people want to live the government free life they can. Participating and funding society should be because you want to, not because you have to.
