Mama Bear knocks Tom over looking trying to film her in the dressing room [VIDEOS]

A Lakewood woman claims she was the victim of a terrifying Peeping Tom and took matters into her own hands to protect herself. The alleged incident happened in a department store dressing room where men and women can stay. Michelle Chandler, a mother of five, was changing clothes when she noticed a hand and a cell phone under the screen.

“When I went to take these pants off,” Chandler explained, pointing to the jeans he was wearing, “I bent down, looked up, and saw men's shoes, socks, and his phone pointed right at me.”

Unwilling to take any chances that the suspect would get away before security and police could arrive, Chandler swung into action and pinned the young man to the ground. Video and footage from her cell phone show her holding down the suspect, along with store associates, then using her knee to hold him in place. Chandler said the man was restrained with a seat belt.

“You have to be responsible,” he said.

The Lakewood Police Department confirmed their response. “Unfortunately, this is legitimate,” a police spokesman said FOX31.

It is terrible that women are forced to take these matters into their own hands.

Good for Michelle Chandler for standing up for herself and all women who want their right to privacy respected.

A spokesman for the mall declined to comment and referred all inquiries to the mall's corporate office.

Chandler's experience has raised concerns about safety and privacy in locker rooms and public spaces, especially those that accommodate both men and women. He hopes his actions will serve as a warning to potential perpetrators that they will be held accountable for their actions.
