Israeli hostage rescue: Spectacular head-cam footage unveiled

In a recent development, the army has released camera footage documenting the dramatic rescue of Israeli hostages from Hamas captivity in Nuseirat, central Gaza. The video, captured by a soldier from the Navy's prestigious Shayetet 13 commando unit, shows the hostages being transported to a heliport for an airlift to Israel.

The operation involved the reconnaissance unit of the Parachute Brigade, which assisted in the extraction of the Yamam officers and Shin Bet agents, along with the four rescued hostages. This was accomplished under intense enemy fire. At the same time, members of the elite Shaldag of the Israeli Air Force and 669 units were engaged in treating the wounded officer Yamam, Ch. Inspector Arnon Zmora.

Zmora, who was tragically gunned down by Hamas terrorists who were guarding three of the four hostages, succumbed to his injuries on arrival at an Israeli hospital. In recognition of his bravery and sacrifice, the rescue mission was posthumously named “Operation Arnon” in his honor.

This footage serves as a stark reminder of the dangers military personnel face during rescue operations and the lengths they go to ensure the safety of hostages. The successful extraction of the hostages, despite the hostile circumstances, is a testament to the skill and bravery of the special forces involved.
