German police say a 51-year-old man who was tied up in the woods when a sex game went wrong had a lucky escape after a cyclist and a hunter heard his cries for help.

Police said the man was discovered fully clothed but firmly tied with ropes and stockings on his head on a deer hunting platform near the town of Bueckburg on Wednesday night.
In a statement Friday, police said the man appeared to have been tied up by a woman he met online. After doing so, the woman received a phone call and ran out of the forest suddenly, leaving the man in a helpless state.

“The 51-year-old man told officers he had a box cutter ‘for those situations’ but appeared to have underestimated (the woman’s) bondage skills because he couldn’t reach the knife,” said the police.
The man was unharmed and refused to provide information about the woman’s identity. The police have opened an investigation against her on suspicion of not providing assistance and possible deprivation of liberty.
