Fox News aired a report on Saturday that has fueled speculation that Donald Trump is “going back” on his statement that he expects to be arrested on Tuesday.
“The Trump campaign is now walking back a Truth Social post by the former president saying he will be arrested on Tuesday,” the Fox News report states. “A Trump spokesman now says there has been no notification of the upcoming charges beyond what they call, quote, ‘illegal leaks to the media.’

As Fox News Digital previously reported, former President Donald Trump has seen no “notification” — other than “illegal leaks” to the press — that he will be arrested next week, according to a spokesperson who says Trump is “emphasizing rightly his innocence”. “
“There has been no notification, other than illegal leaks from the Department of Justice and the Attorney General’s office, to NBC and other fake news operators, that the Radical Left Democratic Attorney in Manhattan, funded by George Soros, has decided to take his witch hunt to the next level. President Trump is rightly highlighting his innocence and the weaponization of our system of injustice,” a Trump spokesman said, adding that the former president will be in Texas next weekend for a “giant rally.”
The statement follows reports that the Manhattan district attorney’s office is preparing to issue an indictment over alleged “hush money” payments Trump made as a 2016 presidential candidate.
Trump hit out at reports suggesting he would be arrested next week via his Truth Social app on Saturday morning, telling supporters to “PROTEST, TAKE BACK OUR NATION.”

A judicial source told Fox News Digital that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office will meet with law enforcement to “discuss logistics some time next week, which would mean They anticipate an indictment next week.”
The Manhattan district attorney issued a statement Saturday night saying his office will not be “intimidated” by a possible pushback.
“Please know that your safety is our highest priority,” Bragg’s email read in part. “We have full confidence in our outstanding security personnel and investigators, along with our great colleagues at the OCA and the NYPD, and we will continue to coordinate with all of them. We do not tolerate attempts to intimidate our office or threaten the rule of law in New York.”
“Our law enforcement partners will ensure that any specific or credible threat against the office is fully investigated and that appropriate safeguards are in place so that all 1,600 of us have a safe work environment,” the email continued .
“This office is filled with the best public servants in the country,” the message added. “I am committed to maintaining a safe work environment where everyone can continue to serve the public with the same diligence and professionalism that make this institution so renowned. In the meantime, as with all our investigations, we will continue to apply the law fairly and equitably, and will speak publicly only when necessary.”
There are currently no Truth Social posts on Donald Trump’s account or public statements from the former president that strongly indicate he is “taking back” his comments.
