Sen. Rand Paul remains determined to hold Dr. Anthony S. Fauci to account and denounced the use of taxpayer dollars to fund the security of the retired immunologist as outrageous and that he is receiving treatment normally reserved for former presidents.
The Kentucky Republican, who has been a fierce critic of the man responsible for driving the nation’s COVID policies, joined Fox News host Jesse Watters to discuss the documents obtained by his show through a single Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request from the United States Marshals Service that detailed how the agency took over protection of the elfin career bureaucrat earlier this year.
The big question now is, why on earth are the American taxpayers footing the bill for this jackass demon to be treated like a celebrity VIP?
On Monday’s edition of “Jesse Watters Primetime,” Paul responded to the host’s question about why Fauci would continue to have “24-hour security” now that he is no longer a federal government employee.
Responding that he had heard rumors that Fauci was still reporting to his office and had his security detail, the senator said questions were being asked of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) about whether the 82-year-old Fauci , he was still working and if he had a limousine with a driver and a security detail.
At first, the government lied about funding Fauci’s baller lifestyle, and then when Fox News dug deeper, they discovered the truth.
“HHS came back to us and said they haven’t been paying for it since January. But then we found out Fox did a Freedom of Information Act and a judge forced them to say, well, while HHS wasn’t funding it directly , the U.S. Marshals were funding it,” Paul said, telling Watters that government officials said. he told her that even though they didn’t pay the bill directly, “someone else does and then we’ll reimburse them.”
“So it is a terrible example of the government lying to its representatives and the people. But also, why is he a retired guy, the only retired official I know who gets this kind of treatment is a former president,” Paul said. “So I have no idea why this bureaucrat still has a limo driver , a security detail, and we want to know if he still has legal representation, because I think he might need it.
What’s really frustrating is that this man should be behind bars, not in a luxury limo, and certainly not in one paid for by the blood, sweat, and tears of the American people. It is obvious that this ghoul, blinded by his lust for power, has shamelessly exploited us all in the name of globalist power and greed.
