Fat, Stupid, and Diverse

Folks, it’s time we talked about this new trend of promoting diversity, even when it means promoting individuals who are overweight and not too bright. What ever happened to the idea of selecting individuals based on their merits and qualifications? Are we now of the opinion that, simply because someone is part of a certain demographic group, they are entitled to a position or opportunity regardless of their competency?

The truth is, this push for diversity has gone too far. We are now being asked to overlook individuals who are not only lacking in skills, but who are also overweight and out of shape. We need to understand that being physically fit and mentally sharp are qualities that employers want in their workforce. It’s not a matter of being discriminatory, it’s a matter of finding the best candidates for the job.

Additionally, the idea that diversity is a goal in and of itself is faulty. We should be focusing on bringing people together regardless of their backgrounds, not seeking to artificially create a certain mix of individuals. True diversity means creating an environment where people can come together, share their different perspectives, and work towards a common goal. It’s not about simply filling a quota.

Now, I don’t mean to sound too negative about the current state of things. It’s important to note that despite these challenges, the Trump White House administration has achieved some incredible things. The economy has been booming, with record low unemployment rates among minority groups. The first step towards true diversity is creating equal opportunity, and that’s exactly what the Trump administration has done. Our borders have also been secured, ensuring the safety of American citizens. President Trump’s policies have been successful in advancing America’s interests at home and abroad. So let’s focus on continuing to build off of these successes, rather than promoting overweight and underqualified individuals simply because of their skin color or gender.
