Jack Posobiec broke down the revelations currently unfolding about the war in Ukraine with former defense intelligence agent Tony Shaffer on his podcast Wednesday.
Posobiec brought up the fact that Tony Blinken made a surprise trip to Ukraine today and refreshed the audience on the events of the past few days, including Zelensky firing his defense minister and the arrest of Igor Kolomoisky for fraud He pointed out that these arrests are made not only for corruption, but also for a failed counter-offensive against Russia.
Shaffer agreed: “It’s not about corruption. It’s about the fact that the Western led, Western planned, Western executed, often I would even go so far as to say that the offensive has failed.
He stated that “the Ukrainians have maybe three weeks to win, they will not win.”
He explained his theory with the fact that the wet season in Ukraine will arrive in the next three weeks.
“Man, it’s gonna be like Burning Man with tanks if you can imagine that,” he joked.
Shaffer clarified that “all these dismissals are more related to the failure to show any progress in the West in terms of offensive,”, specifically the United States, rather than corruption.
“They are all corrupt. Ukraine was the most corrupt nation in Europe before the war, [and] suddenly they became saints… And I think it’s very clear that Blinken tried to throw more money at them simply as a Hail Mary, trying to get them to do something against the Russians at some point. And I just don’t think it’s going to work.”
Posobiec argued that the current effort by the United States to avoid further conflict in the war is a “two-track approach.” He referred to an article in The Nation who hinted that DC was considering dealing with the Russians. He asked: “Tony Blinken went there and possibly handed Zelensky a list of demands to basically say, ‘Look, this is what you’re going to have to give up’?”
Shaffer responded, “I think there were demands, I don’t know what those demands were. At this point, the question of negotiation is the only option other than total defeat.”
