‘Everything appears to be a cover-up’: Ex-Capitol cop breaks silence on J6 conspiracy

A previously unaired clip from Tucker Carlson’s show that was taped before his sudden departure from Fox News has surfaced revealing explosive revelations from former Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund.

Sund’s story about the Capitol riot offers a stark contrast to the media narrative that was incited by former President Donald Trump. It has gained particular relevance as the Justice Department now seeks to imprison Trump on Jan. 6 and thereby prevent him from running for president in 2024.

“You’re very level-headed and rational and not given to exaggeration, obviously,” Tucker said. “But the facts you are describing are shocking.”

“The reason I’ve had a lot of people ask me, you know, why did you write this book?” Sun said. “I tried to do everything I could to get the truth. You know, they didn’t want me to testify in February, on February 23rd, at the Senate hearing. They just wanted people who are still currently in positions on the Hill. In fact, I having to go in and talk to a friend of mine on one of the oversight committees to tell him I’m going to be there in person. I want to be there. I want to testify.”

“So I’m glad you think I’m reserved. I’m, you know, to be honest with you, I’m a little bit angry,” he added. “Because if people were reporting the intelligence correctly, if they allowed me to do my job as chief, I have significant experience. If they allowed me to do my job as chief, we wouldn’t be here today. Then this didn’t happen “.

“It all seems to be a cover-up,” he continued. Like I said, I’m not a conspiracy theorist, but when you look at the information and the intelligence that they had, that the military had, it all gets diluted. I don’t get intelligence, I’m denied any support from the National Guard in advance. I’m being denied by the National Guard while we’re under attack, for 71 minutes,” Sund added.

Former Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund warned Congress six times about the high risk of imminent attacks on the capitol building before the Jan. 6 “insurgency.” Sund also said he notified the US military five times about the danger, but his pleas for increased security were ignored.

Sund issued a scathing resignation letter to former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi over the Jan. 6 security debacle.

Tarik Johnson, a former Capitol Police lieutenant, shared his story Thursday about speaking with Tucker Carlson about Jan. 6.

“The Tucker Carlson show was the biggest platform I’ve ever had to speak on,” Johnson said. “When they called me to do the show I was surprised. That was at the end of February and I was still trying to figure out the best way to navigate the situation.”

“When I got to Florida and talked to Tucker off camera, I didn’t tell him much more than what I already knew,” he continued. “The reason was because I didn’t want to be at the center of this controversy. I just wanted to say enough to trigger an investigation into the actions of Deputy Director Yogananda Pittman and Chief J. Thomas Manger and then move on.”

“Thinking about it now, there was no way I couldn’t have been at the center of it and I should have told Tucker everything I knew and let him decide what he wanted to air,” he added. “I was also worried that Tucker wouldn’t believe me. Me (a lifelong Democrat who is black) claiming that Assistant Chief Pittman (a black woman) was MOST responsible for what happened at J6 and that Chief of the manger was brought to cover up Pittman’s horrific actions, ensuring that some who demonstrated at the Capitol that day would remain in prison (some innocent or charged more harshly than they should have been) for the purpose of ensure that the narrative of J6 was maintained as a group of uneducated, red-collar white people storming the US Capitol for the purpose of insurrection. .”

“This would ensure that Pittman’s failures were blamed on former President Donald J. Trump,” he continued. “If I had told Tucker all of this back in February, I think he would have thought I was a crazy conspiracy theorist and I didn’t want to risk not airing my segment. I’m sure there are things I could have done from a other way, but I’ve never had to navigate a cover-up of this magnitude.”

On January 6 there was an obviously insufficient security of the capital. This was despite prior warnings that the odds of an attack on the capitol building were increasing by the day, including an intelligence report issued by the Capitol Police themselves on January 3.

An internal Capitol Police intelligence report warned of a violent scenario in which “Congress itself” could be targeted by angry supporters of President Trump.

“We knew we were going to have large crowds, the potential for some violent altercations,” Sund said. Yet the FBI, the Pentagon, the National Guard, the DC mayor’s office, and the Capitol Police did virtually nothing to stop what everyone expected.

Now that January 6 is the pretext to accuse Donald Trump of conspiracies against the United States, the question arises: What is the real conspiracy here?
