The Five co-host Greg Gutfeld unleashed a powerful tirade following Monday’s Durham Report revelations detailing a full-blown election interference operation conducted by the FBI and CIA in concert with the knowledge and the approval of the Obama White House and boosted in part. for a Clinton plan to “stir up a scandal by claiming interference by Russian security services.”
Gutfeld defended Americans who remain skeptical of election integrity after the controversial 2020 election that saw Joe Biden officially elected president over Donald Trump.
“If you have people saying the country won’t survive Trump, it’s your moral duty to cheat. Right?” he asked rhetorically. “And you should cheat. Like if someone thinks he’s telling everyone that this person is a modern-day Hitler, it’s your duty to do everything possible to stop him. In fact, if you really play by the rules, you’re a traitor. Right?”
“So they created a devil so great and so vast that he allowed all actions,” he continued. “And it made all the institutions, as the judge said, subject to suspicion, right? So you can bury stories, you can create hoaxes, you can fund defamation, it could go anywhere, because you have to stop this person. It’s Hitler! An existential threat. And so what happens is that now we stay and none of this is true? And so we had half a decade of deception that infected and undermined every institution because we are led to believe that this person is evil.”
“And then people make fun of people who are skeptical about the election,” he continued. “Why shouldn’t they be skeptical of an election when the DOJ and the FBI and the mainstream media and the tech companies and the Chamber of Commerce are all in on it.”
“Why shouldn’t the elections be called into question? Right?” he asked. “Shouldn’t a hero try to fix the election? Right? Shouldn’t a hero do that? If you stand up to Hitler, that’s where we ended up. And you can’t go around condemning people for the so-called ‘conspiracy theories’ when you were telling everyone that this guy was worse than Hitler. No.”
The Fox News co-host’s rant comes as the network pivots away from pro-Trump coverage and away from questioning the 2020 election following a $750 million lawsuit settlement with Dominion Voting Systems.
Tucker Carlson, who was ousted in the lawsuit, lost his popular prime-time cable news show in the fallout, leading some media observers to believe it may be partly related with its 2020 election coverage. Rupert Murdoch, chairman of Fox Corporation, in his own statement was highly critical of Fox News’ coverage, even going so far as to state that the news “news networks should not ‘knowingly tell lies’.
