Thug ends up in the hospital after attacking the wrong couple on the New York sidewalk

A New York City criminal found out the hard way that victims sometimes fight back after attacking a couple walking their dog.

The attack took place in Queens when the 37-year-old man tried to ambush the couple in broad daylight on Wednesday. His scheme backfired spectacularly when the couple turned on him, stabbing the assailant multiple times, according to police.

The assailant snuck up behind the couple as they walked their young dog near 49th and Broadway in Woodside at approximately 2:45 p.m., according to the NYPD.

“Surveillance footage shows the suspect throwing his coat to the ground before lunging at the other man, who, due to a foot injury, was riding a scooter next to the woman holding the puppy,” he said. New York Post reported

“The assailant crawled behind the couple as they walked down the street, the video shows. The tables were quickly turned and the couple began to beat the man who lunged at them,” added the medium.

The video shows that the suspect was locked in the head. He was thrown to the ground by his intended victim who was wearing a medical boot on his right foot. The pair began raining blows on the assailant.

The assailant tried to run away from the couple but they did not let him run away. The dog was dragged away while they beat the crap out of the man.

The three finally broke apart and started yelling at each other, looking like they were more than ready to engage in another pitch.

“The victim took a few steps back toward the security camera, showing a shocking, bleeding wound near the crown of his head,” the New York Post wrote. “It was then that several bystanders, who appeared calm during the fight, stepped between the couple and the man.”

The suspect was taken to Elmhurst Hospital with seven stab wounds, according to the NYPD. He is currently in a stable condition.

Incredibly, no one has been arrested yet. But police are looking for the two possible victims.

This is just another violent incident added to a very long list that has recently taken place on the streets of New York City.

“A man using a walker was seen on video brandishing a gun at West 43rd and Eighth Avenue, located near the Port Gourmet Deli storefront before attacking an unsuspecting woman. It was two more minutes before officers of the police approached the attack, made him drop the knife and arrested him,” the medium noted. “Cyril Destin, 62, was charged earlier this week in connection with the shocking attack on a 36-year-old Pennsylvania woman, who was walking with her daughter at the time.”

According to the New York Post, the perpetrator unsurprisingly had a history of mental illness and prior arrests. He is also homeless.

“Destin has been arrested 14 times over the past 20 years, the last for criminal mischief in 2022, law enforcement sources told the outlet. After last week's attack, Destin was taken to the Hospital from Bellevue for treatment. His victim was also taken to Bellevue, where she was treated for a stab wound to the chest,” the Daily Mail noted.
