“Look at me! I'm oppressed!” A member of the Missouri “team” was roasted for being compared to the civil rights icon “in our struggle for liberation.”
Friday marked the 68th anniversary of perhaps the civil rights movement's best-known act of defiance when, on December 1, 1955, 42-year-old Rosa Parks was arrested for refusing to obey segregation laws on board from a bus in Montgomery, Alabama.
Expanding on the rhetoric of victimhood, Missouri Rep. Cori Bush (D) marked the anniversary with a quote from Parks' biography and an “asinine, narcissistic” self-comparison that sparked social media.
“'People always say I didn't give up my seat because I was tired, but that's not true… No, I was just tired, I was tired of giving in.' 68 years ago, Rosa Parks refused to give up your seat on the bus,” Bush posted on X. “We must continue to refuse to give up, in our struggle for liberation.”

We must continue to refuse to give in, in our struggle for liberation.

Hardly the first time the left-leaning congresswoman had elevated a biased view of society's CRT to bolster her persona as a social justice warrior, reactions to the post reminded Bush that her duties demanded that he would stop living in the past and serve all his people. constituents
“You're fighting a fight that was won 68 years ago. Why don't you address today's issues for all of your constituents?” asked one user while another pointedly asked: “What rights do you not have?”
Another commented: “Liberation from what? Honoring the past is admirable while the progress of predecessors is not. As a member of the House of Representatives, you will be better served by freeing yourself from already won battles to focus on issues affecting Americans today.”
You are fighting a fight that was won 68 years ago.
Why not address the current issues of all your constituents?

While opinions poured in from all corners of the Internet, the progressive lawmaker also took heat from her own constituents when one user penned a short, but very scathing missive that read: “Congressman, please center 't in reducing crime in Saint Louis. Thanks, Max – Voter, MO-01.”
Congressman,
Please focus on reducing crime in Saint Louis.
Thanks,
Max

face multiple FEC complaints for allegedly misusing campaign funds, including to benefit her now-husband Cortney Merritts, and having a record that accumulates deceptions and pushing a narrative of white supremacy and institutionalized racism in modern America, others pared the post down to its finest point to point out the absurdity of Bush comparing himself to Rosa Parks.
“Comparing yourself to Rosa is the most stupid and narcissistic thing I've seen in a long time,” said one user.
Another wrote: “I'm sure Rosa is kicking your ass using her to dodge like this,” as someone else simply said: “You're no Rosa Parks.”
Additionally, one X user managed to poke fun at the sitting lawmaker's desperate effort with committee assignments and corporate media appearances to align himself with Parks by quipping, “Look at me! I'm oppressed!”
Comparing you to Rosa is the most sane and narcissistic thing I've seen in a long time.

Rosa is sure to be rolling in her grave at you using her to do this.

Yes, so “oppressed” that it gets fawning coverage and groupie drool in our media

Meanwhile, Bush has been one of the so-called Hamas committees to continue to support the wishes of terrorists in the Middle East in opposition to Israel's sovereign right to defend itself after the October 7 terrorist attack.
Keep fighting murderers, rapists and kidnappers. Rosa Parks would be ashamed of you.
