The Rev. James A. Roemke of Kenosha's Messiah Lutheran Church managed to bring a much-needed smile to Donald Trump's face as he took the stage Monday evening at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.
On a night when emotions were running high, and Trump was still recovering mentally and physically from an attempt on his life by a 20-year-old would-be assassin who inexplicably got through the Secret Service, the pastor went dropping an unexpected if not a point… where, impersonating the former president.
“It is a great pleasure to be here. Great to see President Donald Trump safe,” Roemke said in a slightly sad tone.
“And if you will allow me before the blessing, I make you this promise,” he continued before a sudden change in voice and gestures. “You will be very blessed. You will be tired of being blessed. I guarantee it.”

The latter remarks sounded a lot like Trump, who looked on with a wide smile rarely seen from the man.
A common observation about his appearance at the RNC Monday night was that Trump, wearing a bandage over the bullet wound in his right ear, appeared to be a different man. This was evident in his eyes and in his smile, as if the former president had a new life.
Here's a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on social media platform X:
The look on Trump's face is beyond endearing.

Let's not forget that this man has his own comedy special Roast. Trump has always had a good sense of humor. He just doesn't like being called a racist or a traitor. And who would? But this is great
