Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) took exception with a bemused statement published by the Washington Post that he believes is a call for “open rebellion” against the government if Republican front-runner Donald J. Trump wins the election of 2024.
The Ohio Republican sent a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland and Secretary of State Antony Blinken about the lengthy column written by arch-neocon Robert Kagan in which he wrote that “resistance” to a Trump victory “could come from governors of predominantly Democratic states like California and New York.” through a form of annulment. States with Democratic governors and palaces could refuse to recognize the authority of a tyrannical federal government.”
Kagan's language would appear to be consistent with the revamped definition of an “insurgency,” another term that has been perverted from its traditional meaning as a means of providing a legal basis to prevent Trump from returning to the White House, and Vance wants answers from two top officials in the Biden regime.

“I would like to bring to your attention an opinion piece recently published in the pages of a widely circulated American newspaper. Based on my review of charging documents that the Justice Department has filed with the courts, I suspect that one or both of you could characterize this article as an invitation to “insurrection,” a manifestation of a criminal “conspiracy.” or an attempt to provoke civil war,” Vance wrote.
After declaring that the odds of an American dictatorship in the coming years are “pretty good” and that “[t]hose waiting to be saved [from dictatorship] by an American military dedicated to protecting the Constitution are living in a fantasyland,' writer Robert Kagan, a managing editor of The Washington Post, concluded that a second Trump presidency would justify secession, treason and (probably) political violence,” the letter says.
“Excuse me? I must have missed that day in civics class. Our system of federalism prescribes a strong role for state governments and often allows local resolution of local matters,” Vance wrote. “Never mind that our country endured the horror of civil war in hopes of putting to bed the idea that states can ignore lawful federal authority when it bothers them.”
“According to Robert Kagan, the prospect of a second Donald Trump presidency is dire enough to warrant open rebellion against the United States, along with the political violence that would inevitably follow…” the senator said.
Vance also notes that Kagan is the husband of Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland, a neocon fanatic who is fighting the US-NATO proxy war over Russia in Ukraine, a costly conflict that is bleeding public support almost as quickly as it does. is chewing up the adult male population of the notoriously corrupt Eastern European country.
“In addition, I understand that Robert Kagan's wife, Victoria Nuland, is a senior administration official charged with reviewing our nation's most sensitive national security intelligence and information programs,” he wrote. “I am curious to know whether, according to the State Department, Victoria Nuland's close relationship with her husband could compromise her judgment about the best interests of the United States.”
The senator gave the two regime officials a deadline of January 6, 2024 to answer his question, one of which was whether the DOJ would open an investigation into Kagan.
“If not, what factors advise against this investigation? Why were those factors inapplicable in President Trump's case?” Vance asked.
Kagan's column comparing Trump to Hitler and Roman Emperor Julius Caesar was seen by some as a dog whistle to encourage someone to assassinate the leading opposition candidate before he has a chance to take office.
By claiming that “Trump will be like Hitler,” neoconservatives and the demographic establishment rationalize their weaponization of government agencies, embolden those in power to further abuse their power, and may encourage a lone wolf to do what the people say it should have been done to Hitler before he took power. We need to send a very direct and clear message to the voting booth that we completely reject these anti-Americans,” said former Democratic congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard .
The neocon poobah he reacted in Vance's letter about his call for rebellion against the federal government in a statement to Fox News Digital.
“Joe McCarthy would be so proud, but Tailgunner James has launched himself. He was supposed to wait until the Trump dictatorship started shutting down Trump's political opponents,” Kagan wrote, casting the victim as neoconservatives and his fellow travelers are inclined to do when faced with his dangerous rhetoric.
