Hiker’s faithful dog found next to body 2 MONTHS after they disappeared in Colorado

It is often said that we seriously flawed human beings do not deserve dogs, which are gifts from God designed to provide immeasurable pleasure.

A recent example of this can be found in Colorado, where a 71-year-old hiker went missing in August. Rich Moore of Pagosa Springs hiked Blackhead Peak with his Jack Russell terrier, Finney, on Aug. 19 and never returned, Fox News reported.

“Crews were inserted by helicopter just below the summit of the mountain and moved west in search of Moore to the trailhead, where his car was found parked, the search said and rescue. The team, however, was unable to find Moore,” the network reported.

Moore was found Oct. 30 by a hunter about 2.5 miles east of the summit, according to the Denver Gazette. Right next to his body was Finney, still very much alive.

Delinda Vanne-Brightyn, a member of Taos Seach and Rescue, was part of the initial search for Moore and commented that she was on the TSR Facebook page.

“We searched from below the peak and directly to the west, looking for the mountain towards where his car was. The winds were directly from the west/southwest. It was so steep that we got a helicopter into it . He was found 2.5 miles east of the top of the mountain, below where we were inserted,” she said of her and her rescue dog.

Social media users were in awe of the dog’s loyalty to its owner.

“Unbelievable that the dog stayed with him. They really are man’s best friend,” one person wrote.

Another said: “Oh my gosh…his sweet dog stayed with him for over 2 months? Sending prayers for his family. Thank you for your work to locate him and give him some of closure to this family.”

“So sad and yet so beautiful that little Jack Russell stayed with him all these weeks… Sometimes tragedies remind us of the bond between man and his best friend,” wrote another user of the Social Networks.
