Hamas marked Israeli children in case they escaped; Horrific details of the hostages begin to emerge

-

As the temporary ceasefire in Gaza for the release of hostages and the exchange of prisoners ends, horrifying details are emerging of the abuse and literal branding of child hostages at the hands of their Hamas captors.

According to Yaniv Yaakov, the uncle of two kidnapped Israeli boys, 12-year-old Yagil Yaakov and 16-year-old Or Yaakov, the boys were marked like cattle on the exhaust pipes of burning motorcycles so they would be easy to identify if they escaped Time of Israel reports

The young brothers were released on Wednesday.

At an event in North Macedonia with Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen, Yaakov said: “They told us stories about what happened in Gaza. The stories are horrible.”

“Every child that was taken by Hamas was taken on a motorcycle and they took every child, they took their leg and put it on the exhaust pipe of this motorcycle, so they have a burn because they will be branded if they run, if they escape, so [Hamas] they can find them,” he said. “They were drugged, treated so badly, but at least they're with us.”

It is not clear what substance the children received.

The hostages were given enough food to keep them alive, according to Moran Aloni, whose sisters, Danielle and Sharon, were freed along with three of his nieces.

“There wasn't food every day,” Aloni told Channel 12. “And if there was something one day, it wasn't something you could count on to satisfy you. It kept them alive.”

Sometimes they were forced to decide whether to keep some of the food they were given for the night because they didn't know if more would be given.

Hamas also tried to demoralize its hostages, telling them that “Israel gave up on them,” Aloni said. “And that was one thing they heard: that Israel arbitrarily decided to raze everything. They had no idea what was going on.”

Dr. Itai Pessach, director of Safra Children's Hospital at Sheba Medical Center, told a press conference that the testimonies of the freed hostages he is treating are “difficult to bear.”

“They have suffered hardships, physical and mental,” he said.

“I feel the need to make his cry heard,” said the doctor. “The world needs to know how evil and cruel is the behavior of Hamas.”

Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett confirmed to X the brand of Israeli children.

“We now know that the Hamas terrorists who held 13-year-old Yagel Yaacov and his brother Or hostage used a motorcycle exhaust pipe to 'imprint' a burn on their legs as way to identify them if they tried to escape.” He wrote “Let me repeat: They took a piece of boiling metal and fastened it to the legs of a helpless 13-year-old captive.”

“Hamas are sadistic monsters,” he said, “and we will have to kill them.”

When a user asked him the “source” behind his post, Bennett replied: “Kids and their scars.”

“Hamas-led terrorists took about 240 hostages of all ages in the shock assault on October 7 when they massacred about 1,200 people in southern Israel, mostly civilians,” reports the Times of Israel.

“A temporary ceasefire agreement, which began on November 24 but collapsed on Friday, allowed the release of 105 civilians from Hamas captivity in Gaza: 81 Israelis, 23 Thais and 1 Filipino.”
