Gavin Newsom mocked mercilessly after claiming Tennessee town had banned ‘being gay in public’

California governor and presidential candidate Gavin Newsom found himself mercilessly grilled after his controversial social media post claiming that a Tennessee city had “banned being gay in public.”

Newsom, posing as a civil rights advocate, broke an obscure New Republic story that left many readers scratching their heads.

A city in Tennessee has banned being gay in public.

This is just the beginning. We have to shout this out. https://t.co/0G1i7dKTgp

“A city in Tennessee has banned being gay in public,” Newsom said.

“This is just the beginning. We have to say this,” he added ominously.

The New Republic story provides details that make for a puzzling juxtaposition to the astonishing claim that a city has banned being “gay” in public.

Murfreesboro passed an ordinance in June that prohibits “indecent behavior,” including “indecent exposure, public indecency, lewd conduct, nudity or sexual conduct.” As reporter Erin Reed first reported, that ordinance specifically mentions city code section 21-72. The municipal code states that sexual conduct includes homosexuality.

Anyone who violates the new ordinance is prohibited from holding public events or selling goods and services at public events for two years. Anyone who violates the ordinance “in the presence of minors” is disqualified for five years.

If we are to understand this right, being “gay in public” now means indecent behavior, such as public nudity or performative sexual acts in front of or with children in public.

That’s a pretty “heroic” contribution to the LBTQIA+ cause. A way to make every homosexual look like a sexual deviant who is supposed to prepare children to be “gay in public”.

Since homosexuals are treated as little more than faceless political pawns to Democratic opportunists like Newsom, it is apparently of little consequence to them if respectable and respectful homosexuals are mistaken for perverse and perverse.

This is “intersectionality”. All victim groups are interchangeable with neo-Marxist democrats, because they are all just means to their political ends.

If you respect people as individuals, don’t conflate laws protecting children from sexual grooming with “being gay in public”. It’s a huge red flag, unlike Newsom’s missive about an alleged violation of gay civil liberties.

So what is the principle really about? The start of Newsom’s deception campaign in anticipation of a “surprise” presidential race, according to pundit Scott Adams.

This story is a hoax, but selling hoaxes to America is a requirement to be a Democrat running for president.

If that goes well, he can do something bigger, like the fine people hoax and the drinking bleach hoax. https://t.co/k1lvJDKjNg

“This story is a hoax, but selling hoaxes to America is a requirement to be a Democrat running for president,” Adams said sarcastically. “If this goes well, he can do something bigger, like the fine people hoax and the drinking bleach hoax.”

But Newsom obviously wants to start slow and warm up to the shenanigans of the really big league.

His post X ranked non-stop.

Tennessee: You can’t have sex in public

Gavin Newsom: Oh, so you can’t be gay

“Tennessee: You can’t have sex in public Gavin Newsom: OH WHY CAN’T YOU BE GAY WOW,” said the red-headed libertarian.

LOL “being gay in public”

You mean they can’t strip and twerk in the streets.

“LOL being gay in public,” Alex added. “You mean they can’t strip and twerk in the streets.”

The law prohibits indecent exposure, lewd behavior and nudity in front of minors.
Nowhere in the ordinance does it mention sexual preference.
Gavin, why do you think banning indecent exposure, lewd behavior and nudity in front of minors is “banning gays in public”?

— Kevin Dalton (@TheKevinDalton) November 16, 2023

“The law prohibits indecent exposure, lewd conduct and nudity in front of minors,” noted Kevin Dalton. “Nowhere in the ordinance does it mention sexual preference. Gavin, why do you think banning indecent exposure, lewd behavior and nudity in front of minors is ‘banning gays in public’?”

This is a total lie.

It banned adults from sexualizing children. pic.twitter.com/UCXO5qDlmG

— Nothing Gold Can Stay (@deaflibertarian) November 17, 2023

“This is an outright lie,” commented one user. “It banned adults from sexualizing children.”

The public ordinance notes that the word “homosexuality” was removed from the code only to make it abundantly clear that the intent of the bill is to prevent the sexual orientation of children.

At the end of the day, Newsom’s social media post spreads “harmful misinformation.” It’s not unlike the “Don’t Say Gay” hoax that was done to attack Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

But it’s worse than that, because the misleading social media post defames gays by conflating them with child sexual predators. It promotes harmful stereotypes about the LGBTQIA+ community by implying that it is full of sexual deviants.

The skewed story also perpetuates a false narrative that gay people are under assault in America, when the truth is that they have just as many civil rights as anyone else.

This story is unnecessarily causing hysteria to distract from the many problems of the governor running the state of California. It’s baseless “bait rage”.

In other words, it’s perfect for a Democratic politician trying to be president of the United States.
