Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis is expected to present her case against former President Trump regarding alleged attempts to overturn the state’s 2020 election to a grand jury next week.
Former Democratic state Sen. Jen Jordan and former Gov. Geoff Duncan (D), who have been subpoenaed to testify before a grand jury as part of the investigation, told NBC News they have not yet received the 48 hour notice quoted. in the subpoena to appear before the grand jury, indicating that the case will not be presented to jurors this week.
Willis’ investigation into whether there were “coordinated attempts to illegally alter the outcome of the 2020 election” by Trump and his allies in the state has been ongoing since 2021.
Willis has said he plans to announce charges by Sept. 1 at the latest.
