A former White House security adviser who served under President Barack Obama hurled Islamophobic remarks at a halal cart vendor in New York City on multiple occasions, according to shocking videos.
Stuart Seldowitz was caught on camera calling the Upper East Side salesman a “terrorist” and berating the man for not speaking English.
The former White House official also suggested that the Muslim prophet Muhammad was a rapist and claimed that more Palestinian children should be killed amid the conflict between Israel and Hamas.
“If we killed 4,000 Palestinian children, it wasn’t enough,” the fanatic identified by Internet sleuths as Seldowitz said in one of the viral clips posted on X on Tuesday. “It wasn’t enough.”
Israeli airstrikes have killed more than 5,000 Palestinian children in Gaza since the current war between Hamas and Israel began on October 7. according to UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell.
The former diplomat has been harassing the street vendor at the corner of East 83rd Street and Second Avenue for about two weeks, according to the Columbia graduate student who posted the videos, shot from the vendor’s perspective, to X.
Seldowitz wears different clothes in the clips, which appear to be filmed at different times of the day.
Seldowitz, who worked as deputy director/senior policy officer at the U.S. State Department’s Office of Israel and Palestinian Affairs in the early 2000s, threatens to send a photo of the seller to his “friends of immigration” and to Egypt’s security services, whom he said would torture him “when they deport you back to Egypt” in the first video posted on X, which it was filmed after sunset.
“Did you rape your daughter like Mohammed did?” he asks the seller after taking a photo and laughing, according to the footage.
The street vendor tells Seldowitz that he doesn’t speak English, ostensibly to get him to leave, but instead the former political aide scolds the man, telling him that he’s “ignorant” and that’s why he works on a cart food.
In another clip, Seldowitz holds an Israel pin in the window of the halal cart and asks the vendor if he has a permit and visa as the vendor repeatedly asks him to leave.
“You support killing little children,” Seldowitz tells him, claiming the salesman supports Hamas.
“You kill kids, not me. Go,” the seller says as he turns it off, according to the video.
“I didn’t kill children,” Seldowitz replies. “… If we killed 4,000 Palestinian children, it was not enough.”
A third clip shows the former acting director of the National Security Council’s South Asia Directorate under the Obama administration asking the salesman if he is in the country legally before a construction worker intervenes to stop the harassment in progress.
The Post could not immediately reach Seldowitz for comment, but he confirmed in the Daily Beast who was the person in the viral videos.
“The bottom line is, yes, it’s me,” Seldowitz told the network.
He said the videos only show the face of the seller in the story and that his alleged harassment began after the seller, he claims, expressed support for Hamas.
The NYPD said the local precinct commander is aware of the videos and precinct cops are “monitoring the situation.”
Meanwhile, the lobbying firm Gotham Government Relations, where Seldowitz was a consultant, announced it was ending all affiliation with him after videos of his shocking behavior went viral.
“The video of his actions is vile, racist and beneath the dignity of the standards we practice in our company,” the company said in a statement.
Seldowitz was also condemned by Mayor Eric Adams, Governor Kathy Hochul and New York Attorney General Letitia James.
“Islamophobia is hatred. Plain and simple,” Adams tweeted. “This vile and disrespectful rhetoric has no place in our city. We reject it, and we’re glad to see we’re not alone.”
“This is hateful, disgusting and unacceptable,” Hochul told X. “Vile rhetoric like this has no place in New York, and we condemn it in the strongest possible terms.”
James also said it was “disgusting, hateful and New York will not tolerate it.”
