Former Clinton aide Jay Carson has somewhat surprisingly endorsed Robert F. Kennedy Jr., leaving the Democratic Party to support Kennedy’s candidacy as an independent.
That’s according to the Daily Beast’s weekly Confider newsletter, which said Carson was joining a Hollywood list of Kennedy 2024 supporters.
“The candidacy of pro-vaccine politician Robert Kennedy Jr. has attracted a slew of media profiles and big-name endorsements from the likes of Aaron Rodgers, Robbie Williams, Joe Rogan, Woody Harrelson, Pierce Brosnan and Alicia Silverstone,” he reported. the article
The common denominator between Carson and Kennedy is sobriety, and he believes his friend is ready to be the next president.
“I’m still a full-time screenwriter, but I’m trying to do what I can to help Bobby win because I think our country needs a president who understands how broken the system is, but is also sane and competent enough to fix it. this,” Carson said in a statement to Confider.
In addition to serving as Hillary Clinton’s press secretary for her 2008 presidential campaign, which was halted by Barack Obama, Carson also served as communications director for the Clinton Foundation.
And he questions how the media is portraying RFK Jr., who seems to be back on track with President Biden after all, but in 2020 he’s single-handedly elected him.
“As someone who worked in government and politics for almost two decades, I’m shocked at how the Bobby I’ve been reading about and on TV is nothing like the kind, honest, brave person I am . come meet,” Carson said. “I’d like to help bridge that gap so people know they have another option on the November ballot.”
Treatment he will get a first-hand taste now that he has moved away from the Democratic establishment.
Case in point, a “senior Democratic strategist with ties to the Biden campaign” told Confider in response to Carson’s endorsement: “A fiction writer working for a delusional conspiracy theorist. Hints.”
On that note, Carson was a consultant for the popular Netflix Castle of cards drama series starring Kevin Spacey.
Suffice to say, social media was less than impressed with Carson’s support:
And we should care…why?
