Elon Musk threatens to ban Apple products for OpenAI integration [VIDEO]

On Monday, Elon Musk threatened to impose a ban on Apple devices within his various companies if the tech giant integrated OpenAI at the operating system level. Tesla's CEO took to X to voice his concerns, denouncing the potential integration as an “unacceptable security breach.”

Musk warned that if he went ahead with the ban, visitors to his companies would be forced to surrender their Apple devices at the entrance, sending them to be stored in a Faraday cage for the duration of their visit.

And visitors will have to check their Apple devices at the door, where they will be stored in a Faraday cage.

This announcement followed Apple's unveiling of numerous AI features that will be integrated into its apps and operating platforms, as well as its partnership with OpenAI to bring ChatGPT technology to its devices. Apple stressed that privacy was at the core of its AI developments, stating that a combination of on-device processing and cloud computing would power these features.

Expressing disbelief, Musk found it “patently absurd” that Apple, which he suggested was incapable of developing its own AI, could somehow assure that OpenAI would protect users' security and privacy. However, a community note attached to Musk's tweet highlighted that Apple had created its own artificial intelligence, “Apple Intelligence”, and that ChatGPT was just an additional feature of that suite, limited to Siri and Tools 'writing and subject to the user's permission for each use. .

Musk's conflict with OpenAI and its CEO, Sam Altman, has been escalating, with the SpaceX and Tesla mogul filing a lawsuit against the organization, which he co-founded in 2015. Musk alleged that OpenAI s 'had strayed from its original mission of developing AI for the betterment of humanity rather than profit.
