(Louis Cornelius, Holder USA) Never Back Down, a super PAC in support of Florida’s governor. by Ron DeSantis presidential bid, is in disarray after the abrupt resignation of CEO Chris Jankowski.
Jankowski’s departure comes amid internal strife over the future direction of the political committee’s strategies, particularly over how best to attack DeSantis’ opponents.
The resignation, announced just days before a contentious meeting at the PAC’s Georgia headquarters, marks a major shakeup within the organization.
“Never Back Down’s main and only goal has been to elect Governor Ron DeSantis as president,” Jankowski said in a statement. “Given the current environment, it has become unsustainable for me to achieve the shared goal and this goes far beyond a strategic difference of opinion.”
In the same statement, Jankowski pledged to run for DeSantis for president. “For the future of our country, I support and pray that Ron DeSantis will be our 47th president,” he added.
Reports indicate that internal disputes to counter the former UN ambassador Nikki Haley’s growing up popularity in polls fueled internal turmoil. A standoff between key PAC executives, including chief strategist Jeff Roe and DeSantis ally Scott Wagner, escalated into a heated confrontation during which Wagner had to be physically restrained.
NBC reports that Desantis’ Super PAC had an emergency meeting to address Nikki Haley’s rise and a fist fight almost ensued.

“You got a stick in your . . . Scott,” Roe yelled at Wagner, he said NBC news. “Why don’t you come here and get it?” Wagner replied. Wagner then rose from his chair, but was physically restrained by two other board members.
Speculation hovers over DeSantis and Florida’s first lady Casey DeSantis attributing the PAC ads to declining ratings for the governor’s presidential campaign, falling far behind ex-president donald trump.
Criticism has particularly arisen around the Never Back Down ads targeting Haley’s alleged ties to China, which have apparently backfired, with some attributing the negative sentiment to DeSantis himself, the News from New York reported
In response to the backlash, DeSantis allies launched a separate PAC, Fight properly, with the intention of mounting attacks against Haley. Notably, one of the ads released by this new PAC drew parallels between Haley and disgraced former secretary of state Hillary Clinton.
