A group of Republican senators demanded that the Biden administration pay attention to the humanitarian and national security disaster on the southern border of the United States after a midnight trip with Border Patrol agents.
Confronting a group of migrants who had crossed illegally into the United States, Senator Ted Cruz recounted the “horrific” situation he witnessed in the Rio Grande Valley and, in particular, the plight of children.
This week, I led a group of senators to our southern border.

“There was a girl who was 13 years old” and “I had no family with her,” the Texas Republican said during a news conference in Anzalduas Park after his midnight patrol last week in which he encountered 20 illegal aliens who had turned themselves in. Border Patrol.
“There was another girl who was 16 years old. I had no family with her,” Cruz continued. “There was a little boy who was 15 years old. I had no family with him.”
The senator explained how he asked the children “about the violence they had suffered during the journey; the look on those children’s faces was horrifying”.
During a midnight patrol with officers, @SenTedCruz says he encountered a “disturbing” situation.
There was a 10-year-old girl with a “man who said he was her father,” but “it was obvious to anyone who had ever seen a father and daughter that these two were not related.” pic.twitter.com/jlMR2Fs7kk

In another instance, he spoke of the “disturbing” conversation he had with a 10-year-old girl who was with a “man who said he was her father with his arm tightly wrapped around her,” adding that “it was obvious than anyone who has ever seen a father and daughter that these two were not related.”
“At one point, when we asked her about her mother,” Cruz said, “we saw her look at the man who claimed to be her father, wondering what the answer should be?”
The lawmaker issued a “simple message” to President Joe Biden and Democrats: “Come to the border.”
I have a message for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris:
Come to the border.
Come and look into the eyes of the children who have been abused and treated across your open border.
This is a disaster.

The administration’s refusal to do its job has forced Texas to defend its own border, building its own border wall despite Biden’s underlings.
Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) joined Cruz in the Rio Grande Valley along with Republican Sens. John Barrasso of Wyoming, Mike Lee of Utah and Pete Ricketts of Nebraska.
I’m glad about that @SenTedCruz & I could take some of our colleagues to the Rio Grande Valley to learn from the experts on the front lines of the border crisis.
Thanks to @SenJohnBarrasso, @SenatorRicketts& @SenMikeLee to unite as we work to address this crisis. pic.twitter.com/FUUD8VSi1B

“America’s southern border is the world’s worst-kept secret,” Cornyn said Monday in a speech from the Senate.
“If we’re going to give consequences, which means deterring more people from coming, that means ending catch and release, which is the policy of the Biden administration, and removing people who have no legal reason to remain in the United States,” he said. “Until the administration begins to deter would-be migrants with frivolous asylum claims from even approaching our border, we will remain in a constant state of crisis.”
