Cowboys from Utah and Montana travel to Israel to help West Bank farmers

-

In an inspiring act of international aid, a group of cowboys from Utah and Montana have traveled to Israel to help West Bank farmers affected by recent attacks by Hamas. The cowboys, including John Plocher and Yosef “Yoss” Strain, were spotted leaving JFK Airport on Nov. 6, their trip to Israel quickly drawing attention on social media.

The cowboys are volunteers of Operation Ittai, an initiative led by HaYovel, a Christian volunteer organization working in the West Bank. The operation aims to provide essential supplies and equipment to small farms that are left vulnerable as many Israeli reservists have been called up for military service.

Joshua Waller, HaYovel’s director of operations, emphasized the need for aid in areas beyond those most affected by Hamas attacks. Operation Ittai is raising nearly $30 million to provide protective vests, thermal drones, night vision goggles, binoculars, flashlights and security cameras to Jewish communities in the West Bank, which are under constant threat from terrorism.

Waller highlighted the precarious position of these farms, surrounded by Arab towns with hostile intentions. He referenced a recent incident in which a Jewish family was shot and left in critical condition. Waller argued that the world has overlooked this area, the “fourth front of the war”, because of political decisions to divide the Jewish state.

Although the Biden administration halted the supply of weapons to the area, leaving 500,000 Jewish residents without American support, these cowboys are stepping in to help. Their message is clear: they will not abandon these communities in Hamas territory. This story serves as a testament to the American spirit of generosity and compassion.
