Good morning and blessings to you all this fine Wednesday!!!
Our new furnace is finally here! Old one is being removed as I type. Yeah! Praise God that it’s not on a day when it’s freezing cold.
I think they are also installing a new thermostat. Hope it’s easier to program than the old one.
Have been making beef bone broth the past few days. Slow cooking them about 24 hours.
So delicious. My book says you can make broth from the bones two to three times with the same bones. And I did get a second batch. But I’m reducing the second batch a bit to concentrate it. And don’t think I’ll go for a third this time. Maybe next time
Plus, started the microgreens the other day. Lots of little sprouts already. Soon will have pea shoots, broccoli, red cabbage, various radishes, alfalfa, corn salad, and some basil and cilantro for good measure. I’m hoping the new trays I found at the end of the microgreens season early this spring will work better than what I had been using so that I see less spoilage. The old trays seemed to foster mold. Plus they were fairly small and an odd shape. It will be nice to have fresh greens again, as the garden has mostly wound down for the year.
Many blessings to you all as you wind down your gardens for the year!!!
