Meta Platforms and Amazon are poised to follow up on the stellar results of US tech giants Microsoft and Alphabet, with combined sales of up to $177 billion.
Facebook owner Meta will report third-quarter earnings later on Wednesday, with Mark Zuckerberg’s company guiding sales of $32 billion to $34.5 billion, and investors keeping a close eye on the group’s spending amid ‘a costly foray into artificial intelligence and virtual reality.
On Thursday, Amazon is expected to continue clawing back last year’s losses, with sales of $138 billion to $143 billion and investors looking for growth in its online stores and Amazon Web cloud operation Services.
The pair will be the latest to report in a busy week for tech investors after Microsoft posted a 27 per cent rise in profits to £18.3bn on revenue of £46.5bn.
Meanwhile, Google’s parent company Alphabet posted a 40% rise in earnings to £16.1bn on sales of £62bn.
