During a town hall event in Queens, New York on Friday night, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) was met by a group of angry constituents who clashed with the socialist Democratic congresswoman on several themes.
Some community members in attendance criticized Ocasio-Cortez’s positions on illegal immigration, raising the debt ceiling and her support for continued US funding for Ukraine.
One of the attendees, wearing a T-shirt with a Cuban flag and an American flag, approached the stage, shouting: “American citizens before migrants!”

As security escorted the man out of the lobby, he continued to express his dissatisfaction, exclaiming: “Where are you on the migrant issue? You’re absent!” Before leaving, he added, “You’re a piece of shit!”
The incident was received with a mockery of the deputy. But he faced more heated opposition throughout the night.
During a discussion about the debt ceiling negotiations between the White House and Republican leaders, Ocasio-Cortez expressed her support for the elimination of the debt limit in the United States. His statement drew a mixture of cheers and boos from the audience. One attendee expressed frustration, noting that Ocasio-Cortez simultaneously supports substantial funding for Ukraine, stating, “You voted $100 billion for Ukraine!”
He was interrupted by someone else in the crowd who claimed it wasn’t his turn to speak.
Other town hall attendees displayed signs with messages such as “America First: Vetted & Legal Migrants Only,” “Stop Funding Ukraine,” “AOC Stop Crying” and “AOC An Obvious Criminal.”
This is not the first time that Ocasio-Cortez has faced criticism for her support for Ukraine funding. At a town hall event earlier in October, he confronted people who accuse him of supporting nuclear war and playing with the lives of American citizens.

“Congressman, none of this matters unless there is a nuclear war, which you voted to send arms and weapons to Ukraine,” said the first protester. “Tulsi Gabbard, she’s left the Democratic Party because they’re a bunch of war hawks! Well? You voted initially; you ran as an outsider, but you’ve been voting to start this war in Ukraine. You’re voting to start a third war nuclear with Russia and China. Why are you playing with the lives of American citizens? You are playing with our lives.”
“There will be no neighbors if there is a nuclear bomb! You voted to mobilize and send money to the Ukrainian Nazis! You are a coward! Are you a progressive socialist? Where are you against mobilization for war?” added a second protester.
“He is telling the right truth!” another entered.
“You didn’t do anything,” said the second protester. “Tulsi Gabbard has shown courage where you showed cowardice! I believed in you and you became the very thing you wanted to fight against. That is what you have become! You are the establishment and you are the reason everyone it’s going to end in nuclear war unless you decide to stand up right now and denounce the Democratic Party. Will you? Yes or no?”
“Okay, simple: Are you going to stop nuclear war, yes or no?” the protester responded to AOC’s inaudible response. “There’s no line, because that’s bullshit! None of that matters if we’re all dead. None of that! You know! So let’s go right now, because that’s all that matters. That’s the only thing that matters right now. We could be in a nuclear war at any moment and you keep funding it. That’s what’s happening. Why not right now?”
“You’re the liar here,” he continued. “No one has held you accountable. This is what’s happening. And it’s time for you to stand up and realize that what you’ve been saying has been lies. Let your conscience pass for once.”
